Question:
Howdy! I have a question abt a roof rack for a 2016 Chevy Cruze Limited Edition. I am getting into the sport of Stand-up Paddleboarding SUP and will prob be transporting a SUP. I do not currently have any roof rack. I had my windows professionally tinted, so the rainguards/windguards are installed on the car frame no window frame on this car. I was interested in the Thule system, but I see that the roof rack bracket would not work because of the rainguards would be in the way. Which roof rack would not harm the rainguards?

Since your 2016 Chevrolet Cruze Limited has rain/wind guards installed a clamp-on roof rack is not the best option, but we do have a unique solution for you that will allow you to transport your stand-up paddle board (SUP) on the car's bare roof.
Please take a look at the SeaSucker Paddleboard Carrier # 298-BX1806. This all-inclusive system allows you to transport 1 surfboard, paddleboard, or stand-up paddleboard on virtually any vehicle without having to buy a separate roof rack first. The linked video shows you just how powerfully this USA-made vacuum cup system holds to the chosen mounting surface. The carrier includes a set of 10-foot tie down straps and two padded bars to support your SUP. No other parts are needed!
The real beauty of the SeaSucker carrier is that you do not have to live with a noisy roof rack on your car all the time (all roof rack bars make at least some wind noise). Just place the SeaSucker on the roof when its a paddling day and pump the vacuum cups to solidly attach them to the car's roof. This carrier can stay with you and your paddleboard well into the future and install on your next vehicle, or a friend's if you have paddling company. You can remove it to lock it safely in your car while you're out on the water. This item is about as "future-proof" as a product gets.
Another no-roof-rack option is a foam block type carrier such as the Malone Deluxe SUP carrier # MPG171. This low-cost carrier works with a roof rack or on a bare roof without a rack. It includes tie-down straps. This type of setup is fine for a short low-speed trip on local roads but if you drive on the interstate any significant distance to get to your paddling destination then you'll definitely want a more secure system like the SeaSucker.
