For your 1997 4WD 4-Door Geo Tracker, the Roadmaster XL Base Plate # 1007-2 provides a custom fit. The base plate you referenced, # 118-8, works only for the 2-door models of the 1997 Geo Tracker.
For this item, there is no welding required and it is a vehicle-specific base plate that ensures a perfect fit for your Tracker. It is compatible with Quick Disconnects and all Roadmaster tow bars. I have included a photo showing a close-up view of how this product will fit on your vehicle.
I have included links to our FAQ pages on wiring kits for vehicles being towed, tow bar braking, towing a vehicle, and tow bar wiring.
