You could use a Roadmaster base plate kit with your Blue Ox Rangefinder II but you will need to use a Blue Ox Rangefinder II to Roadmaster Bracket Adapter # RM-037.

For a base plate kit you will need a Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit # 3109-1. This kit is confirmed to fit your 2006 Chevy TrailBlazer as long as it is not an SS model. The base plate kit # 1418-1 that you referenced is not confirmed to fit your vehicle and would not work for you.

For more information on supplemental braking check out the FAQ article I attached on those systems. Most states now require that you use them, so you will need to check your local laws and regulations. The one we most often recommend is the Roadmaster Even Brake Portable Proportional Braking System # RM-9400. This braking system installs in the tow vehicle and applies an even amount of braking power to the tow vehicle to match the braking of the tow vehicle.

There are other components you will need to flat tow also. You will need safety chains, I would go with the coiled kind like the RoadMaster 68 inch Single Hook # RM-643. Coiled cables are nice because you can coil the cable around the arms of the tow bar and not have to worry about them dragging.

Lastly, you will want to check your owners manual to make sure there are not any restrictions for flat towing your vehicle.
