Question:

We have recently purchased a 2020 Prius and will be getting 1.25inch inch hitch for it soon. My assumption is that the 2inch hitch is not appropriate for a Prius. Please correct me if I am wrong on this. We have two ebikes, one about 43 lbs and the other 47 lbs. These weights exceed the limits for many two bike platform racks. Do you have any platform racks that will allow 50lbs per bike and are suitable for a 2020 Prius? As you likely know, the tongue weight limit for 1.25inch hitch is 200lbs and I need to work within this limitation. Thank you!

The 2 inch hitch size is generally reserved with higher towing capacities like SUVs and trucks and the smaller 1-1/4 inch size is used on the lighter duty vehicles like your 2020 Toyota Prius like the Draw Tite part # 24966 which is a confirmed fit.

Now that said we do have E-Bike racks that fit this hitch size and have the needed capacity like the Thule EasyFold XT part # TH903202 which will work great with the rack weights you mentioned. This also comes with a ramp too to make loading and unloading as easy as possible.
