What is the difference between Curt Class I hitch (part C11064) and EcoHitch Hidden Hitch (part 306-X7286)? Is one stronger than the other? Will one finish last longer?

Great question! These hitches are both confirmed fits for your 2009 Honda Fit. They both have have limited lifetime warranties and black powder coated finishes for great corrosion resistance.

The Curt # C11064 has a 1-1/4-inch receiver opening, a 200 pound tongue weight capacity and a 2000 pound towing capacity. It is easier to install and has a lower price than the EcoHitch # 306-X7286.

The EcoHitch # 306-X7286 has a 2-inch receiver opening, a 300-pound tongue weight capacity and a 2000-pound towing capacity. It takes longer to install and has a higher price than the Curt # C11064. The 100 pounds more of tongue weight isn't that important because your FIT probably has a lower tongue weight limit on it, so you will be going by that lower weight anyway. With that being said, I still highly recommend going with the EcoHitch over the Curt for three reasons. First the 2" opening will allow you to choose from a wider variety of accessories like bike racks or cargo carriers. Next, Curt requires the use of stabilizer strap for bike racks or cargo carriers and the EcoHitch doesn't. Finally the EcoHitch is not a class I hitch so you will not be limited to only two bikes, you will just have to make sure that the total weight of the rack and the bikes stay under the vehicles tongue weight capacity and under the hitches capacity. I also recommend that you place the heavier bikes closest to the vehicle.
