The transmission cooler # D12901 does come with installation instructions. Since transmission coolers are not vehicle specific, the instructions will not cover any individual vehicles. The output from the transmission will first run to the factory cooler which is mounted inside the radiator. The return line will then go to the supplemental cooler, and from there back to the transmission.
A cooler can be mounted in basic locations depending on the space available. The most efficient place is in front of the AC condenser core, followed by in between the core and radiator, and the least efficient is behind the radiator. I have included some links to FAQ articles that should help.
