Why Would RV Water Pump Cycle Off and On When Not in Use
Updated 09/23/2020 | Published 09/22/2020 >
Question:
Hi, I have had the pump installed for six months and was working wonderfully. Now it’s cycles on intermittently about every 10 or 15 seconds. If I turn it off and check the system after 10 minutes the water pressure is gone. I know that sounds like a leak in the plumbing but I cannot find any evidence of a leak. Could it have something to do with the check valve in the pump?

It's possible a valve isn't sealing well but normally this problem is a slow leak somewhere. The Water Pump # P25201 does have a one-way check valve that was designed to prevent backflow contamination of fresh water. If somehow this went bad it could cause the problem you described so if you go over everything and can't find a leak the pump is at fault.
