Question:

Which Trunk Mounted racks would you recommend for 2014 Cadillac SRX? What are the pros and cons of each - only Trunk Mounted needed. Thx

There are several models that are listed as a “Confirmed Fit” for your 2014 Cadillac SRX, but your best choice is the Thule OutWay 2-Bike Rack # TH45JV. You could also consider OutWay 3-Bike Rack # TH56BV if you ever thought you might want to carry 3 bikes. While these would fit your SRX, the upper straps which attach to the top of your hatch gate rest on your rear spoiler and apply load pressure to it. I would be concerned about possible abrasions at those points. These are really better suited for cars with traditional trunks.

There are “SeaSucker” models like # 298-BK1910-AB which mount by suction cup and require the front wheel of the bike to be removed. I have included a picture of a bike mounted to a vehicle similarly shaped as yours. Most customers would not pick this style unless they had a vehicle without a trunk and oddly shape like a Corvette. I have attached a link to this model for you. If you decide to go this route, remember than you will need to order two of them. While they are safer for your car, they are quite costly.

To make sure that your rack does not damage your car, my recommendation is to install a hitch # e55AR and use a bike rack like the Thule Camber # TH9058.
