Question:
My 05 Explorer has the lights on the bottom of the mirror. The part listing specifically says it will not fit this type of mirror. Can it me modified to fit? Do you have another custom fit part? How far beyond existing mirrors will it go? My trailer is 8 wide and the existing mirror housings are 7 wide at the edge, so do they extend enough to see around an 8 trailer?

Expert Reply:
This custom-fit mirror will not work with lighted mirrors. I would not recommend modifying it as it may not stay attached to your mirrors.
We do have universal-fit mirrors that might be just the solution! Our CIPA Dual-view Clip-on Towing Mirror (part 11953) might be just what you are looking for. There is also a great video that shows how to install it. The overall length is 14-1/2 inches, which should be plenty to see around your 8-foot trailer.
