Question:
I need a little help sizing a Solar Panel w/Solar Charge Controller to maintain a single group 27 battery. The MaxxFan #MA00-07500 runs up to 12 hours a day while the trailer is in storage here in Nevada. The Solar Panel w/ Solar Charge Controller I am looking at is the Go Power 20 watt Solar Charging System part #34273837. Is this enough watts to keep the battery charged with the MaxxFan running 12 hours a day. If not which system would you recommend? Thanks

Helpful Expert Reply:
The MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan, Thermostat, and Remote part # MA00-07500K has a maximum draw of 5 amps. If that is running for 12 hours it can draw as much as 60 amps a day. Using the Go Power Eco Solar Charging System with Digital Solar Controller part # 34273837 with the Go Power Solar Flex Expansion Kit - 55 Watt Solar Panel part # 34280125 would be enough to keep the battery from being drained if the fan was used on low only.
You would really need the Go Power Portable Solar System with Digital Solar Controller part # 34282610 to maintain the fan on a high or automatic mode.
