Question:
Hi, I have a Toyota Tacoma 6foot bed and will be installing a Thule track system on my camper topfiberglass shell. I already have an older rack system, but I need to order the footbases Item # 753-2149 that will sit in the track. I was wondering if the spacer Spacer 853-5127 that was discontinued is mandatory for the footbase to function correctly, or is it possible to get by without them? Thanks for the help in advance,

Expert Reply:
The 853-5127 that has been discontinued as you stated and is required for that fit. If you don't have it, then I recommend upgrading your system to be compatible with your tracks. I recommend using the Fit Kit for Thule Podium-Style Roof Rack Feet - 3101 # THKIT3101 with the Rapid Podium Feet for Thule Crossbars - Fixed Point - Qty 4 # TH460R.
