Question:
Dear eTrailer: I own a 2019 Honda Odyssey LX, no factory installed rails. In searching your website to purchase roof racks, I read my minivan can have 2 different mounting systems roof rails or fixed point/feet mounting, to support the separately purchased roof racks. Which mounting system is stronger? I would assume the roof rails - as they have 3 separate mounting points per side, versus 2 separate fixed points per side with the other mounting system. Are the costs similar? I would assume the fixed point/feet is cheaper as they have less material. Thank you for your advice. Sincerely,

Expert Reply:
The weight capacity for the raised rails for your 2019 Honda Odyssey part # e99034 is the same as the weight capacity of the roof racks that attach to the fixed points of your roof like with # RRVA126B-2, # RRQMVA10, # RRRTV168, and # RRRLT600 at 165 lbs. If the goal is for crossbars to be installed on your Odyssey I would just go with the Rhino Rack. It gives you same capacity and costs less overall since it wouldn't require additional components beyond them.
