Question:
Does the strut come with mounting brackets and ball or do you have to buy those separate?

Expert Reply:
A gas strut like the Gas Shock - 80 lb Force - 20" Extended, 11.41" Compressed - Black Nitride # 372-2300-80 is designed to replace an existing strut where mounting brackets are already present. If you're adding one completely new, you'll need the mounting brackets # 3691880 and potentially a ball stud like the UWS 10-mm Ball Stud for Toolbox Lift Strut (Qty 1) # UWSBALLSTUD.
I've also linked some of our available tool box parts if that's the application you're looking to use these parts on.
