I have factory installed crossbars. Is there a work around to use hullavator?

I have a couple solutions for you but the Thule Hullavator # TH898 will not work with your factory roof rack on your 2012 Hyundai Sante Fe. The carrier requires 4"-8" of crossbar overhang from the support tower. This is to provide enough clearance for the lift assist to clear the side of your 2012 Hyundai Sante Fe.
You can swap out your factory roof rack for a roof rack system that has an overhang that will work with the carrier. The Yakima Jetstream Roof Rack could get you the overhang needed for the Hullavator to work. It consists of Yakima JetStream Crossbars 60" Long # Y00426, SkyLine Towers # Y53TR and Landing Pad 20 for Control Towers # Y00246
The Lockrack Watersport Carrier # LR54FR is an easy to use saddle style kayak carrier. It doesn't have a load assist but with the removable arms you can more easily get your kayak on your roof. It reduces the need for straps but I would still use a bow and stern strap like Thule Quick Draw Tie-Down Ropes w/ Ratchets and Strap # TH855XT.
The Malone DownLoader Kayak Carrier and TelosXL Load Assist # MPG114MD-351XL is a a J-Style Kayak Carrier that offers a load assist attachment. This make it a lot easier to get your kayak loaded but you do need to store the load assist arms in your vehicle when not in use.
