Updated 07/28/2024 | Published 07/24/2020

Question:

Does anyone have a video of greasing a Curt A 20 hitch. We purchased one in January or February.

I can help you with info on greasing the A20 hitch but we don't have a video to share at this time. The zerk fittings for the Curt A20 hitch part # C16140 are located on the front of each jaw.The jaws must be in the closed and locked position for the zerks to be accessible. They are kind of hard to see but I attached a picture that points them out.

Curt recommends high pressure grease like the part # L11465. If you need a grease gun we have part # L30200.

One of the zerk fittings on the Curt A20 hitch jaw broke apart as I was trying to disconnect the grease gun. Part of the zerk fitting remains inside the hitch jaw. I don't have an idea about its removal. Need suggestions. I did a search on etrailer for the zerk fitting replacement with no success. Is the A20 jaw a critical lubrication point which wears during trailer towing?

@EarlB It's a good idea to keep the jaws lubricated for sure but if your zerk is broken you could be just fine to spray or coat the jaws with grease manually. We don't have a replacement zerk that fits your hitch but you could probably source one at a local hardware store to press in or thread in.
