Question:

I need a hitch extender for a 1.25 inch hitch that also accepts a 1.25 inch bike rack. I cant tell from the description if the 10 inch extender receiver is 2 in or 1.5 inch. I think an 8 or 9 inch extender would be best, but I dont see one on your site.

The Brophy Hitch Extender, part # hes0, is a hitch extender that will extend out your 1-1/4 inch opening by 10 inches. The hitch opening on the extender is 1-1/4 inch.

The # hes0 extender will accept the shaft of a 1-1/4 inch bike rack, but you we need to remember that when using the extender it will reduce the overall weight capacity of your hitch by 50 per cent.

On your 2003 Mini Cooper the hitch will usually be a Class I hitch that has a tongue weight capacity of 200 lbs. Check the label on your hitch for the tongue weight capacity. These hitch extenders will reduce the tongue weight capacity of your hitch to 100 lbs. So, you will want to make sure the weight of the bike rack and the bike/bikes combined will not exceed 100 lbs.
