Recommended Roof Rack to Use With Thule Stacker to Carry 2 Kayaks

Updated 07/10/2020 | Published 07/08/2020

Question:

My wife and myself are trying to find the best way to transport our two kayaks. Both are 10 feet or under. We are thinking that the Thule The Stacker - Rooftop Multi-Kayak Carrier is going to be our best option since our garage door has pretty low clearance and well be able to fold them down so I dont have to take them on and off every time we go for a float. It is a 2019 Honda CR-V with no current roof rails or rack naked. What were trying to determine is the best cross bars to install that are compatible with the Thule The Stacker. We are not wanting to go bottom of the line, but also not top of the line with our budget. Something mid-tier would be preferable. Do you have any suggestions?

The Thule Stacker # TH830 is compatible with most aero, round or factory crossbars, so you'll have a variety of choices. I recommend using the Rhino Rack Roof Rack System that uses parts # RRVA137B-2, # RRRLKVA and # DK284 since it's an extremely durable, well made rack that comes at a more pocketbook friendly price than something from Thule or Yakima. This is compatible with the Stacker and will allow you to carry both kayaks.

I've linked a brief review video of this rack for you to have a look at installed on a similar Honda CR-V
