Hello. I have a 1980s vintage Rhode Gear trunk mounted bike rack Serial # 396423 with 1 1/4 inch arms. The cradles need to be replaced and need to accomodate larger bike tubes. Will the Hollywood 1 1/4 replacement cradles work? The bike rack is in great shape othewise. Thank you.

Since this bike rack is no longer made it is difficult to find a concrete solution. As long as your arms are 1-1/4" in diameter the Hollywood Racks 1-1/4" replacement cradles # HR755AS should work. They are designed to slide onto the arm. You may need to remove a set screw to keep cradles from sliding off.
Another option if your arms measure an 1" in diameter is the Replacement Anti-Sway Cradle and Standard Cradle for Hollywood Racks Bike Carrier with 1" Arms # HR745AS. Others have had luck installing these on other branded bike racks as replacements.
