Recommended Transmission Cooler for 2007 Chevy SIlverado 1500 with 6.0L V8

Question:

Hi, I have a 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 New Body Style with the 6.0L and tow a 6000 lbs travel trailer. I was just on a trip where the transmission temperature reached 236F while climbing a hill and was 225F for an extended time even on a flat road. The truck already has a cooler but I would like to upgrade it. This Derale 8000 looks like a good upgrade. What fittings do I need to attach to the existing lines?

On your 2007 GMC Sierra 1500 with 6.0L, we don't recommend replacing the factory transmission cooler unless you have to based on space but rather adding another inline cooler with it to further cool your transmission. I recommend the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/Barb Inlets - Class IV - Efficient # D13504 along with the Derale Snap-In Radiator Adapter Fitting for GM # D13035.
