Replacement Slipper Spring for Lightweight 4 x 8 Folding Trailer

Updated 07/02/2020 | Published 06/30/2020

Question:

My present cracked slipper spring is 10inch from the eye bolt to the center bolt, and 23inch total length. The spring arch is about 3inch or 3.5, and its 1 3/4inch wide. Do you have anything that matches up with that? This trailer is many years old I believe it was called a 6 wheeled wonder, folding trailer 4foot x 8 and is similar to units still sold at Harbor Freight.

Do you know the axle capacity? It sounds like you have a lightweight utility trailer. If that's the case, we can get you very close to your original slipper springs. For a 1500 lb axle, use # SP-178275 or # SP-177275 for a 1000 lb axle. Because these springs are about an inch longer than the existing, you'll need to grind off the existing rear hanger and weld a new rear hanger like # 115706S in, about an inch reward of the old rear hanger.
