How to Tell if 53" Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars Can be Used on Vehicle

Question:

Any chance you could let me know what the maximum and minimum required rail width of the 53inch bars? I have a pair of 47inch WingBars that worked fine with my Audi Q5 and my VW Alltrack, but I was wanting just a bit wider bar to better handle the kayaks. I know the 50inch bars will with work with my Rapid Podium feet, but I was wondering if I could gain just a bit more and go with the 53inch bars to use with my Alltrack. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The 53" Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars, Black # TH711420 and Silver # TH711400, have channels on the bottom which measure 9-3/4" on either side. This means that the space between the channels is 33-1/2". As long as you don't have less than that you're good to go!
