Solution for Defective Carrier AC Control Board After Installation of Advent Air Unit

Question:

Retrofit went smooth, but AC unit cuts on, then cuts off. Installer said Carrier 71dq6a34130a control board Is bad. Unfortunately I can’t find one for sale. The furnace and fan switches still work well but the switch for AC is apparently bad. Any suggestions?

I reached out to my technical contact at ASA Electronics (Advent Air) and she let me know that the only solution if you're not able to find the replacement Carrier control board is to then replace your existing air distribution box and wall-mounted thermostat with part # ACRG15.

This along with the # ACCAR150 upper unit, will basically replace all the parts and totally convert your unit to a brand new Advent unit. The kit is compatible with ducted or ductless AC systems and it includes all mounting hardware and screw covers for a simple, bolt-on installation.
