Question:
I am looking to haul 3 kayaks on my 2014 Honda Odyssey Elite. It has the factory cross rails. The kayaks are as follows: Ocean Malibu 2XL, Old Town Loon 120 and Old Town Venus 10 or 11 not sure yet. I was thinking of putting the Yakima aero rails with the folding yakima jbar so I can side stack the 2 single kayaks and lay the double flat. I am sure I am pushing the weight limit, is this configuration safe to do? Want some advice before I go spending a bunch of money

Helpful Expert Reply:
I looked up the roof weight capacity of your 2014 Honda Odyssey and it appears to have a capacity of 165 lbs which is a pretty standard number.
The Yakima roof rack that fits your vehicle part numbers # Y00426 and # Y33TR would be a great solution with the Yakima JayLow part # Y04073 but you'd want to add up the weight of your kayaks to be totally safe.
