I have a 2016 Honda civic coupe. I want add a hitch and trailer for camping gear? how do i know what class do I need and what size trailer?

For your 2016 Honda Civic coupe there are only Class I 1-1/4 inch hitches available like the Curt # C11463 which would be a great solution. This hitch will limit you to 200lbs tongue weight and 2000lbs trailer weight, though you want to check the owner's manual for your vehicle and go by the lowest ratings between the hitch and vehicle. Once you know that info you can decide what size/weight trailer will fit the bill for your needs.

To complete your towing setup you'll also need a wiring harness and a ball mount, hitch ball, and hitch pin and clip.

For trailer wiring then you'd want the part # C56324.

For a ball mount you'd then want the part # C45521 and for a hitch ball # A-80, with pin and clip # F-4 and you'd be set.
