Question:

I want a simple brake controller for a 2003 GMC Sierra. Im towing a 4,000 lb travel trailer. I need something simple and inexpensive. I understand that I will need an adapter also for the install. Please suggest something for me. Thanks.

For your application I recommend the Draw-Tite Activator IV # 5504 which will install in your 2003 GMC Sierra with the Adapter # 3015-P. The Activator IV is a cost-effective time delayed controller that comes with a limited lifetime warranty and only has 4 buttons plus the manual slide for manually applying the trailer brakes. All of this basically means that this is a simple inexpensive controller like what you're looking for.

Attached is a sample installation video that you can check out.

Please note that if you don't already have a factory 7-Way connector at the back of your Sierra then you'll need either the kit # PK11898 if you have loose wires by the rear driver's side wheel, or the kit # 30955 if you have the round connector near your bumper.

Sample installation videos of these have been linked as well.
