Question:
Good afternoon, Looking for a hitch for a 2006 Ford E350 Cutaway van with a Knapheide KUV Box. It has an extended step rear bumper. Please advise on what hitches will fit this vehicle. Thanks

If your 2006 Ford E-350 Cab/Cutaway Van has holes on the rear frame members that are 38-5/8" apart, you can use the Curt # 13053, which is a Class III hitch with a 2" receiver. Because of the rear step bumper you will likely need to use a ball mount with a longer shank AND a drop on it like the Draw-Tite # 4283 in order to tow a trailer, but that won't effect the fit of the hitch otherwise. You will want to measure from the center of the hitch pin to the edge of the step bumper to determine the correct distance you'll need your ball mount to extend out. This ball mount requires a hitch ball with a 1-1/4" shank diameter so you can use something like the # 19286 (for 2-5/16" hitch ball) or # A-90 (for 2" hitch ball).
To complete your towing setup you will also need a wiring harness. I recommend using the Curt # C56020 because it will easily install by teeing into the tail lights on the back of your van and provide you with a 4 way connection to connect to a towed trailer and power the lights.
