Question:

I just purchased a ebike by Ecotric 26 Fat Tire. Is the Yakima rack you recommended strong enough to carry that model? Is there anything else you recommend? I would prefer not to add a hitch to my car if possible. Also what is the condition of the used racks you showed available? Yakima Rack for 2018Kia Optima Thank you

Trunk mounted bike racks are not a good idea for carrying heavier e-bikes as they don't have the weight capacity needed as well as there's a strong likelihood you'd damage the vehicle from the extra weight.

I'd strongly recommend installing a trailer hitch like the Draw Tite part # 24965 so that you can use a hitch mounted e-bike rack like the Thule EasyFold XT part # TH903202 which has the needed capacity as it was designed for e-bikes. Since your bikes have fat tires you'll need the adapter part # 8527642001 as well and you'd be set. This bike rack has a ramp built into it to make it easier to load/unload the heavier e-bikes as well.
