Can Boat Trailer Have Electric Brakes Installed on It

Question:
I am looking at replacing hydraulic brakes with electric brakes on my boat trailer. Are the electric brakes submersible in salt water?

Yes, electric trailer brakes are submersible. You'd think it would be an issue but most boat trailer manufacturers are now installing electric brakes as they are simpler to use and don't have issues. The trick is sealing off the exposed wire as much as possible with heat shrink like part # DW05449 to insulate it from the water.
