Question:

Im purchasing a dump trailer with a GVWR of 7000#. It takes a 2 5/16 ball. I need an adjustable ball hitch. Which one woulf you all recommend. Thanks

So the answer to the exact adjustable ball mount you need really depends on the amount of rise or drop you require. If you aren't sure how to measure for that, I've added a link to a help article detailing how to determine that.

With that in mind, I'll give you some options, and I also want to point out that adjustable ball mounts do come with both a 2" hitch ball and 2-5/16" hitch ball, though if you never need the 2" ball you can simply store it away.

I recommend the Flash E Series Adjustable 2-Ball Mounts because they are made of solid aluminum so they are extremely strong and resistant to corrosion unlike steel mounts, and because they are more economical than similar mounts despite having the same quality. You can choose the right one based on the rise or drop you need (they adjust in 1" increments):

- 4" Drop, 5" Rise: Flash E Series Adjustable 2-Ball Mount with Chrome Balls # FA42-00-2400
- 6" Drop, 7" Rise: Flash E Series Adjustable 2-Ball Mount with Chrome Balls # FA42-00-2600
- 8" Drop, 9" Rise: Flash E Series Adjustable 2-Ball Mount with Chrome Balls # FA42-00-2800
- 10" Drop, 11" Rise: Flash E Series Adjustable 2-Ball Mount with Chrome Balls # FA42-00-2900

You can mount them to your 2" hitch with the Pin and Clip # PC3 although I recommend the Fastway Trailer Hitch Lock and Adjustment Pin Lock Set # FA86-00-3660.

The lock set will not only lock the mount to your hitch, but it also locks the ball platform to the mount, protecting your investments. I have added links to video reviews for you to check out as well.
