Tips for Installing XADAPT11 Adapter Kit Into Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars
Updated 04/28/2020 | Published 04/24/2020 >
Question:
I attached the XAdapt11 kit to my Thule Hull a Port Kayak Carrier 834, but now I cant get the carrier mounted to my Wingbar Evo bars through the t strip. The square peg slides through the channel easily on its own, but it is impossible to get the carrier to slide when the square peg is attached to the Xadapt11. I tried loosening the screw that attaches the square peg to the XAdapt in order to create some slack/distance, but I still get an incredible amount of resistance from the Wingbar. I read on this site that the Xadapt11 was the proper kit for my Hull a Port 834 carrier to attach to my Wingbar Evos, but I cant figure out how to mount the full assembly. This quick access T strip is making things very difficult for me.

Thank you so much for the pictures! I do have a few suggestions that you can try so that loading your Thule Hull-A-Port 834 with the Watersports Adapter # THXADAPT11 is less of a chore.
When I've installed accessories in the newer-style rubber strip on the WingBar Evo crossbars I've noticed that it helps to make sure that the middle pieces where the T-Bolt goes through need to be pushed down. If the ends are sticking up like it looks like is happening then that adds some extra material between the rubber strip and the XADAPT11 and make it more difficult to load.
If that doesn't quite work or you are having trouble pushing that rubber piece down then what you might try doing is installing the T-Bolts first, and then installing the XADAPT11 once you have the T-Bolts started.
Let me know if you are still having issues and I can help you look into this further.
