Troubleshooting Difficult to Install Hitch Bolts on 2008 Toyota RAV4

Question:

I began installing the mount and the screws that came with the mount fit a 19mm wrench, but the screws on my vehicle fit a 17mm wrench so the new screws didnt fit. Do yall sell smaller screws?

Before we determine that you have the wrong size install bolts you need to make sure that the bolts not fitting isn't due to the weld nuts of your vehicle being dirty/corroded and that is why they won't fit.

Typically on vehicles that have seen a few winters the weldnuts can be a bit dirty/corroded so bolts will not just thread right into them. Check out the links I attached that detail how to clean the weld nuts. We see this pretty often and it's always just dirty weld nuts.
