Using the Timbren Axle-Less Systems To Upgrade From Single Axle to Tandem Axle on 4,000 Lb Trailer

Question:

I currently have a single axle boat trailer looking to upgrade to tandem set up. My boat is a Baja 208 Islander which weight approx 3400lbs. Can i use the axle less 2,000 set up x2 per side? would this hold my boat and be better than buying 2 complete axle and leaf set ups?

The Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension Systems are excellent options for many reasons with one being that is makes for upgrading from a single to tandem axle setup much easier in regards to both installation difficulty and parts needed. In order to choose the correct system, you'd need a total capacity that meets the total weight of the trailer minus the tongue. The Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension Systems part # ASR2000S01 which has a 2,000 lbs weight capacity would have you covered with room to spare since the trailer tongue will take some weight of the axles as well.

For idler hubs, you need part # 8-91-05UC1-EZ for a 4 bolt pattern or part # 8-259-5UC1-EZ for a 5 bolt pattern.
