Can Trailer Light With Green and Brown Wire Be Replaced with Light with Additional White Wire
Updated 04/16/2020 | Published 04/15/2020 >
Question:
I currently owned a Snowbear 8000 trailer where the passenger side incandescent tail light is not working … I am looking at this STL008RB as a potential replacement. After examining the existing unit, I found that there are only 2 wires - Brown and Green. This new LED tail light has 3 wires where the White wire is extra... Where should I connect this White wire? Please advise. Thank you.

Your old assemblies grounded the lighting circuit through the mounting hardware and the lights you are looking at, # STL008RB, ground with a ground wire strap. So you'd need to run the white wire back to the mounting stud of the light or to the frame of your trailer and it will function properly.
