The Curt Multi Fit Trailer Hitch # C13900 will not fit your 2012 Chevy Equinox, but the Curt Trailer Hitch # 13591 will. The 13591 is a completely custom hitch that fits right up to the frame of your vehicle and doesn't require any drilling into the frame. I have attached an installation video on a 2012 Equinox that you can check out.
If you let me know what you plan on using the trailer hitch for I can make additional recommendations as necessary.
