Question:

Once connected to the door jam of the vehicle, does it cause leaking when it rains?

Expert Reply:

The door clamp style of roof racks like the Inno part # INB137, # INSUT, and # INK685 do not allow water to leak into the vehicle. If you check out the picture I attached you can see that the clamp actually fits above the door seal.

I have these Inno roof rack holders and unfortunately after attaching them, all four doors started to leak because the seal of the doors were inhibited by the style of hooks that the holder uses. Does anyone else have this same problem? Im interested to know how they got over it.

Im in Japan, so my car is a 2004 Mazda Demio. Ive actually been told by a reputable car supplies shop that it is quite common, especially with cars that have their rubber seals on the door of the car, not on the actual body.

I see - thanks for the info. It's honestly not something that we really see. It's also important to remember that these roof rack fit kits are really specific to vehicle contours and designs - and since the racks we offer are only tested on US marketed vehicles it might just not be the best fit for your Mazda Demio.
