Question:

I need a suggestion on what roof rack system for a 2019 Hyundai Elantra with a sunroof. I will be arching a iKamper mini sky tent. I am just a bit overwhelmed with the choices. Thank you for your time.

For a 2019 Hyundai Elantra with a naked roof, I suggest the Thule SquareBar Evo Crossbars, 53" Long, # TH712400. These will mount to a GT model with or without a glass roof using using the Evo clamp feet, # TH710501 and the fit kit, # TH145112. Or, if you have a sedan, use the Evo clamp feet, # TH710501 and the fit kit, # TH145069. These crossbars have a weight capacity of 220 lbs. The weight a roof rack can support is also limited by the roof capacity for the vehicle, this is outlined in the owners manual of the vehicle so please verify this against the weight of your payload.

You can also choose to use the AeroBlade from Thule with the same clamp feet and fit kit. These 53" WingBar Evo Crossbars are # TH711420 for black or # TH711400 for silver. They also have a crossbar weight capacity of 220 lbs. but may be a more desirable option to you if you will be using for other accessories such as the Thule Hullavator Pro Kayak Carrier, # TH898.

A handy accessory to have is the Rightline Gear Moki Door Step, # RL100660. This door step provides easy access to your vehicle's roof. Simply hook it over the U-shaped door latch on either side of your car.
