Expert Reply:
The most heavy duty trailer hitch we offer for a 1987 Chevrolet K20 is the B&W Heavy-Duty Trailer Hitch Receiver part # BWHDRH25198 which is rated for 16,000 lbs followed by the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C15511 which is rated for 15,000 lbs. These are both bolt-on options which are designed for models with a deep drop bumper. I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver because of the cost savings.
