Is a Towing Cargo Carrier Available?

Question:

I have seen cargo carriers that are being used with the capabilty to tow a small boat or trailer. Truck/cargo rack/then as small boat. the serface of carrier is smaller than standard units. Do you have such animal?

We do not offer a cargo carrier which has a ballmount on it. Placing a ballmount as much as 3 feet rearward of the hitch receiver, due to the leverage involved, would considerably lower your hitch tongue weight capacity. A better option would be to use a ballmount with an integrated receiver, such as our Curt Trailer Hitch Ball mount with 2" Receiver for Bike Racks or Cargo Carriers, part number D210. This versatile item would allow you to use a cargo carrier, while towing your small boat. The ballmount will handle up to 500 pounds of tongue weight (or up to the tongue weight capacity of your hitch, if it is less than 500 pounds). This means that the tongue weight of the trailer, the cargo carrier, and the items carried on it can weigh no more than 500 lbs.
