How to Determine If Longer U-Bolt Kit is Needed for Roadmaster RM-1139-149 Anti-Sway Bar Kit
Published 03/24/2020 >
Question:
I am ordering your rear sway bar rm 1139-149 for a 2018 baystar motorhome, 24000 gvw. I see that I am to order longer u bolt kit 590050-10 if the factory ones are too short. I dont know what too short means. There is about 1/2 inch of factory thread sticking out beyond the nut on the factory u bolts. Is that enough or should I order the longer ones? Thank you.

You can easily determine if you'll need the # RM-590050-10 Extended U-bolt kit by taking a quick measurement. Measure the length of the existing U-bolt that extends through the factory nut. If you can add a 1/2 inch to account for the thickness of the plate used to attach the new anti-sway bar and have 3 threads remaining, you won't need the kit. Otherwise, you will.
Since you currently have a 1/2 inch of thread exposed, I'm afraid you're going to come up short on the U-bolt length and will need the U-bolt kit.
I hope that helps!
