Video Transcript for Feature Breakdown: Extended Round U-Bolt Kit for Roadmaster Anti-Sway Bars

Speaker 1: Today we're going to take a look at the extended round U-bolt kit for the Roadmaster anti-sway bars. Now, these 20 and a quarter inch long U-bolts are used to install your Roadmaster anti-sway bars to your vehicle. Now, the Roadmaster anti-sway bar's part number RM-1139-143, RM-1139-144, and RM-1139-149 are all used in conjunction with your vehicle's factory bar and it mounts using the factory U-bolts but some of the vehicles that those sway bars are used on may require these extended U-bolts.Basically, these extended length U-bolts are designed to replace your vehicle's round factory U-bolts if they're too sharp. The nuts and washers are included. They are made in the USA. The usable length on this, which is going to be on the inside from the very end here up to the top here. And I got to see inside measurement usable length is 20 and quarter inches. The thread length, in other words it's threaded from this end right up to here, so the length on the thread is going to be five inches.

And then the inside width, which is measured inside to inside is right at four and a quarter inches.

We took our first trip with these installed over the last two months (April & May 2021 4,000 miles). All three of these were put on at the same time front & rear anti sway bars with the extended length U-bolts. The RV handled great.

Will definitely need them if you install the road master rear sway bar. Mine needed them with the 24000 GVW.

by:

These did exactly what I needed them to do. Removed the old U-bolts and used these to extend the length so I could install the sway bar on my 2018 34PA Tiffin Open Road

by:

Do not but from anyone else. etrailer and their staff are second to none. Their follow through is the best in the business. Not to mention they let you know how long your wait will be. Who does that!!! I have ordered 7 items in the past month and have been more than pleased with all.

Thank you etrailer staff!!

by:

  • Best Suspension Upgrades For 2007 Gulf Stream Independence 22,000 GVWR on Ford Chassis
Hey Jaran, Great questions, and regarding the anti-sway bars, I definitely recommend upgrading to a larger size. When it comes to anti-sway bars on motorhomes like your Gulf Stream, bigger is definitely better. The larger the diameter of bar, the higher the roll stiffness it gives you, and that's the most important aspect of handling sway. The rear anti-sway bar is the best upgrade, followed by the front anti-sway bar, and then steering stabilizer for added control in the heavy crosswinds....

  • Recommended Suspension Upgrades for a 2018 Jayco Precept 36T
The first and most important suspension upgrade you will want to make on your 2018 Jayco Precept 36T is an upgraded rear anti-sway bar, the Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar part # RM-1139-149. The Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar is going to help minimize the floating/rocking feeling while out on the highway which is typically the most common complaint with a motorhome and the weakest component from the factory. The second most important suspension upgrade you will want to make is a set of...

  • Rear Anti-Sway Bar for 2017 Thor Motor Coach Hurricane 31S With 2016 Ford F53 Chassis
Yes, the Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar for Motor Homes, # RM-1139-146 will work on your 2017 Hurricane 31S with the 2016 Ford F53 Chassis with either a V8 or a V10. The anti-sway bar will use the weight of the axle as a brace against the chassis so that pressure to one side of the motor home is countered by the sway bar. It minimizes the side-to-side movement that cargo shift, wind or passing trucks can cause. On some applications longer u-bolts are required to install this kit. For square-end...

Using the SumoSprings Maxim Custom Helper Springs # SSR-180-54-1 will greatly reduce the amount your 2020 Winnebago Adventurer 36Z leans to the passenger side. You will want to install these on both sides otherwise you will have very different steering characteristics when driving. To drastically improve the overall suspension and drivers experience you will also want to add the Front SumoSprings # SSF-170-40-2, Front Sway Bar # RM-1139-148, Rear Sway Bar # RM-1139-149 and Steering Stabilizer...

  • Installing Extended U-bolts for Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar 1139-143 on 2004 F-53 Chassis
The Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar for Motorhomes # RM-1139-143 can use your factory u-bolts if they are long enough. If they are not, then Roadmaster recommends using the 7/8 inch diameter u-bolts that are longer (most likely the larger diameter due to length needed to ensure strength). I've attached a couple photos from the installation instructions to assist with the size and torque. When torque specs are so large either a large special torque wrench is required or installers are...

  • Recommended Sway Bars For a 2011 Tiffin Allegro RV Motorhome On a Ford F-53 22,000LB Chassis
I recommend the Roadmaster Front Anti-Sway Bar # RM-1139-148 for the front of your 2011 Tiffin Allegro on the Ford F-53 22,000lb chassis. This will replace your current way bar with a thicker and stronger 1-3/4" sway bar and uses polyurethane bushings versus rubber. For the rear the Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar # RM25VR will add a 2nd sway bar to the rear of your chassis. This bar is also 1-3/4" in diameter like the front with polyurethane bushings. You will need to measure the the amount...

The Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar # RM-1139-149 is 1-5/8" in diameter and mounts in addition to the factory sway bar. They also offer the 1-3/4" Rear Sway Bar # RM25VR. This will also mount in addition to the factory sway bar but is slightly stronger being larger in diameter than the 1-5/8" sway bar. • What Front and Rear Suspension Enhancement do You Recommend for My 2021 F-53 Motorhome Chassis?
From my available research on your 2021 Georgetown 36b5 motorhome, it has a Ford F-53 chassis and has a gross vehicle weight rating of 22,000 pounds. Unfortunately, for this particular model, we do not have a steering stabilizer available for your chassis model. The good news is that we do have SumoSpring suspension available for your front axle of your chassis. For that option, I recommend the SumoSprings Rebel Custom Helper Springs - 2 Piece - Front Axle # SSF-170-40-2. The SumoSprings...

It sounds like you meant that the Fleetwood Bounder is on a 2019 Ford F-53 chassis which is very common. The first step in increasing the stability of the 2020 Fleetwood Bounder on the 2019 Ford F-53 chassis is to replace the factory sway bars. The factory sway bars, especially on the Ford Chassis are not as good as the aftermarket sway bars at keeping the motor home in line.
