Because the Chevrolet Avalanche vehicles have so much body trim that is plastic, like on the top of the rear bumper and the top of the bedsides, you would need to use the Standard Magnetic Tow Lights, # RM-2120, on the sides of the vehicle near the rear taillights.
I believe a better option for your truck is the Hopkins Tow Bar Wiring for the 2008 Avalanche, # HM56103, which will let you connect your RV signal lights to the Avalanche lighting system.
This wiring harness plugs inline with the vehicle taillights and eliminates all cutting and splicing of vehicles OEM wiring while allowing you to use the OEM taillights in conjunction with the RV when towing it. The Avalanche taillights will function normally when you are not towing it behind the RV.

If you are using a supplemental braking system in the Avalanche, that presses or pulls on the vehicle brake pedal, you may also need a Brake-Lite Relay Kit, # RM-88400, to keep the Avalanche brake lights from overriding the turn signals when slowing for a turn. To check to see if you need this relay kit, insert the key and put the ignition in the towing position. If the brake lights illuminate when pressing the brake pedal you will need the kit, if not the kit is not needed.
