Question:
Is there a torque spec for this ball shank?

Expert Reply:
The torque specifications for the nut on a hitch ball will be based on the diameter of the shank. The Tow Ready Interchangeable Hitch Ball Set part # 63803 has a 1" diameter shank so the recommended torque specification for the nut is 250 ft. lbs. That said, I understand you are not likely to have a torque wrench capable of this just laying around. Although I must recommend that you follow the guidelines laid out by the manufacturer in regards to torque specifications, I can tell you that most customers will just use a large breaker bar and torque the nut as much as they are able.
