Wire Gauge Used to Wire Trailer Mounted Batteries

Question:
Have 2 6 volt 225 amp batteries that I am relocating on my trailer. Need to extend wire about 5 feet with splice. Is the 10-1-1 wire proper for doing this?

If the wire you're speaking of is the power feed from the 7-way trailer connector to the battery, then yes # 10-1-1 will work great. If the wires you are speaking of are to power a trailer accessory such as a winch, the gauge of the wire will depend on the amperage draw of the accessory and the distance of the wire run.
