Question:
So I’m looking into purchasing the Hullavator pro 898. I currently have a bare roof so in addition I would also need to purchase the cross rails with the mounting kit as well. It’s my understanding that in order to use the Hullavator Pro you need at least 4-5” of clearance from the side of the car to the system itself when it is in the downward loading position. So this is where my question comes in to play.. how many total inches does the Wingbar Evo Crossbars have to be when I order to be able to achieve the proper amount of clearance between the vehicle and the rack itself. I have a 2014 Mazda CX-5.

In order to use the Thule Hullavator Pro Kayak Carrier part # TH898 on a 2014 Mazda CX-5 you will need the Thule WingBar Evo Crossbar System part # TH711420, part # TH710501, and part # TH145110. The Thule WingBar System contains 53" long crossbars which will give you the required 3-4" of overhang for the Thule Hullavator.
