Comparing the Demco 5th Wheel Rail Adapter and Reese Underbed Rail Adapter For Ford Pucks
Updated 02/25/2020 | Published 02/24/2020 >
Question:
I am trying to decide between the Demco vs the Reese 5th wheel adapter for a 2012 F350. Does the Reese 5th wheel adapter RP30156 sit any higher than the Demco? It appears just by your photos that the Demco might sit a little lower than the Reese. My only concern with the Reese adapter is that I can only lower my BandW Patriot a little bit more and want to keep the 5th wheel itself level as possible.

Yes, the Reese 5th Wheel Rail Adapter part # RP30156 add 2-3/4" of height to the truck bed and the Demco 5th Wheel Rail Adapter part # DM6175 only adds 2" of height to the truck bed. Therefore, the Demco 5th Wheel Rail Adapter is what I recommend as chances are you will need the hitch height to be as low as possible since truck are getting much taller nowadays.
The Reese adapter however is lighter at around 55 lbs whereas the Demco adapter weighs around 95 lbs.
