Question:
Is this harness compatible with a 2007 avalanche with the tow package? I am purchasing the Prodigy p3 90195.

Expert Reply:
The Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter, # 3015-P, will not work with your 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche because General Motors quit offering the plug in type connectors on trucks and SUVs with a factory tow package in 2007. Instead, you will find a bundle of blunt cut wires to the left of the steering column under the dash with a white label. The brake controller wires will connect directly to the wires under the dash.
Once you have the the brake controller wired you will need to get under the hood and connect a brake control wire and a battery charge line. The brake control wire will be located between the fuse box and the driver side fender and the battery charge line will be located under the master cylinder.
I have attached an article detailing how to install a brake controller in your vehicle for you to check out. I have also attached a brake controller installation video for you to check out. The vehicle in the video is different, but the installation process will be the same with your vehicle.
