Yes, the Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount, part # D210, will install in a 2 inch hitch on your Acura MDX. To determine if the top receiver of the ball mount will clear your bumper you will want to measure from the hitch pin hole on your hitch, straight out to the furthest edge of your bumper. If that measurement is less than 5 inches it should clear the bumper on your MDX.
The Curt ball mount has a towing weight capacity of 7,500 lbs and a tongue weight capacity of 750 lbs, but you will need to verify the towing weight capacity of your MDX and if it is rated lower you will need to go by the lower capacity. Even though the hitch is rated at 7,000 lbs you will be limited to the towing capacity of the vehicle if it is lower than the 7,000 lbs.
For example, if the towing weight capacity of your MDX is 5,000 lbs, the tongue weight capacity would be around 500 lbs, so you will need to use those capacities as your guideline when using this ball mount.
I looked up the Yamaha VX wave runner and it showed a dry weight of 745 lbs, so you should be fine to tow the Yamaha with the # D210 ball mount.
The receiver on the Curt # D210 ball mount will have a tongue weight capacity of 350 lbs, so you want make sure when calculating your weight in your cargo carrier that you include the weight of the cargo carrier also, and make sure the total weight will stay under the 350-lb capacity.
The # D210 ball mount uses a hitch ball with a 1-inch shank diameter. If you need a 2-inch hitch ball for your trailer coupler you will use the Tow Ready 2-Inch Hitch Ball, part # 19247.
