Question:
I want to install a hitch and some wiring on my 2019 Golf SportWagen for towing a small trailer. Which one do you recommend and what wiring kit will I need?

I recommend the EcoHitch # 306-X7315 2019 Volkswagen Golf SportWagen because it is the only trailer hitch option that comes with a 2" receiver. This is important because a 2" receiver is compatible with a lot more accessories than a 1-1/4" receiver is. The EcoHitch is also designed with a hidden crosstube so that the only part you can see is the receiver - giving you a clean look after the install.
Then for wiring I highly recommend the ZCI Wiring Kit # 119250KIT because it draws power directly from your battery and then it senses when power needs to be sent to your trailer lights without having to splice into your OEM wiring.
You'll also need a ball mount kit for towing a trailer. I like the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989891 because it comes with a ball mount that has 3/4" Rise/2" Drop configurations as well as both a 1-7/8" and 2" hitch ball, a pin and clip set, and a storage bag for when you aren't using the kit.
I have attached some instructions and videos for you to check out.
