Do L-Brackets on Roof Need to be Replaced to Install Go Power Adjustable Mount Kit 34244034
Updated 01/27/2020 | Published 01/26/2020 >
Question:
I have two Go Power 100 watt panels mounted horizontally on my travel trailer using the rigid non-adjustable aluminum brackets that come with the panels. My question is, can these adjustable brackets used the previously installed permanentlyinch installed L-brackets mounted to the roof of the trailer, or do those have to be removed in order to use the brackets - I can see that being a show stopper for some people, that and the need to have a ladder to set panel angle - the plus is yo can almost double panel efficiency by setting angle to better match sun. thanks

Yes, when installing the Adjustable Mount Kit # 34244034 that allows you to tilt the Go Power 100 Watt Solar Panels on your trailer, the existing L-brackets on the roof will need to be replaced with the L-brackets included with the kit. Keep in mind you will only have to do this during the initial installation and the new brackets will simply install where the existing/old ones were on the roof.
Tilting the solar panels really does provide a significant boost in performance. Simply tilting them up a bit can give you up to 40 percent more amperage for powering up your accessories. I have attached a short video review on the assembly that you can check out as well.
