Question:

I read on your topic about bike carriers something helpfull for a Chevrolet Volt. As I live in The Netherlands I drive a Opel Ampera, the brother/sistr of the Chevy Volt. Does the TH45JV or TH56BV also fit on my car? Or do you have an alternative? I have an electric bike, is that a problem. Tnx in advance.

According to our friends at Thule, theirOutWay Trunk Mounted Bike Rack # TH45JV and TH56BV will indeed fit a 2011-12 Chevy Volt. It will work with a vehicle that has a stock spoiler.

Does this mean the OutWay will fit your Opel Ampera? I took a look at the rear end of the Ampera and it appears that it is almost exactly like the Volt.

The OutWay should be able to handle an electric bike as long as the weight capacity of the rack is not exceeded. The 2 bike version of the Raceway # TH45JV has a 66 lb capacity, while the 3 bike version, # TH56BV has a 99 lb capacity.

For womens bikes or bikes with sharply angled top tubes or step-through frames, using a frame adapter like part # TH982XT is recommended. The adapter spans the distance between the seat post and the handle bar gooseneck, and provides a level attachment point to the bike rack so the bike has greater ground clearance and is not carried at an angle.
